Overview

If you are joining the Teaching English Volunteering Program in Mexico with Volunteering Solutions, then your main role will be to teach English to children and adolescents from a disadvantaged background who go to a public school or visit a community center for education. Because there are many children per classroom, there's always a need for an English teacher to support front room teaching, pronunciation, homework and other activities related to teaching English.

You will help as an assistant English teacher in up to 4 classes a day, each for 45 minutes. Students are from 6 to 18 years old and they are divided by age in each classroom. Their English levels might vary considerably within one classroom. That is why an extra teacher can be of essential help for children with low knowledge in order for them to catch up with the others.

Volunteers will most of the time be accompanied by the English teacher who'll inform the volunteer about the school curriculum and the materials and books that they use in each class and for different levels of English. You will be working for 4-6 hours per day, 5 days per week (Monday to Friday).

If you decide to help in the Teaching English Project, you will be able to help children to have a better future by learning the language. The love and affection you'll receive from them will be very rewarding and of course, you gain valuable international teaching experience.
