Q. How do I know that Volunteering Solutions is a legitimate international volunteer placement organization ?

Volunteering Solutions is owned and managed by Volunteering Travel Solutions Private Limited in India. Our Incorporation number is 191429. Volunteering Solutions is also listed in many Volunteering and Travel portals such as Go Abroad, Volunteer Abroad, Travel Tree and One World. Q. Why should I pay to volunteer ?

Most people are surprised to hear that they would have to pay to volunteer abroad. What they often do not realize is that there are significant administrative costs involved to arrange for a worthwhile volunteer abroad placement. Volunteering Solutions is not supported by any government funding and runs its programs entirely from the fee that volunteers pay to take part in the volunteer programs. Volunteering abroad, involves incurring of many costs such as food, accommodation, transportation, transfers, project selection etc. The program fee charged by us, goes into providing you all these services. The money that you pay to us is distributed at various stages to provide you a meaningful volunteer abroad experience.

Q. What is the application process ?

All volunteers need to apply online to book their volunteer placement. To get started please go to the Online Application Form.

Q. When should I apply ?

There is no deadline for registering your program. However, we advice all volunteers to book their program when they decide on the choice of program location and date. We have volunteers booking their programs even one year in advance. So, it is a good idea to book the program as early as possible and reserve your spot.

We also allow volunteers to change their program dates once provided that a notice period of 30 days is provided atleast.

Q. What is the Age criterion for joining the programs ?

The minimum age requirement for individual participants in the programs is 17 years old. However, volunteers below 16 years old and children can join the program if they are volunteering as a part of a group ( with adult members).We welcome Families to join our programs. The maximum age limit to join the programs is 60yrs.

Q. How long are the Volunteer programs for ?

Volunteering Solutions offers programs from one week to six month duration. The minimum and maximum program lengths depend on each individual program. Please visit the individual program page to view the details.

Q. Can I volunteer with a friend or a partner ?

Yes. We will ensure that you will be placed along with your friend or partner in the same project and also stay in the same accommodation. Volunteers need to inform us in advance and mention the requirement in the application form. 

Q. Are there any other educational or language requirements to join the programs ?

Apart from the Medical and healthcare program, all program have a general requirement of Knowledge of English. To volunteer in certain projects in South America, volunteers are recommended to have basic knowledge of Spanish language as well. Those volunteers who do not have any Spanish language can also participate in certain programs and learn the language while in country by making use of the Spanish lessons available at affordable costs.

Majority of the volunteer participants come from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, France and other European countries. However, we also have received participants from Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Korea, Singapore and India.

Q.Do you offer special discounts for long-term volunteers ?

Although our program fee are one of the most affordable , we do offer discount on the program of 12 weeks or more depending on the program country .Please contact us for more info.

Q. Can I volunteer in more than one program location ?

Yes, you can volunteer in multiple program countries. Volunteering Solutions staff can offer you great combo packages as well where we will offer you a discount on the program fee if you choose to volunteer in multiple countries.

If you choose to volunteer in different cities within the same country you do not need to pay a separate application fee for each program. If you decide to volunteer in separate programs in multiple countries, you will need to fill separate applications.

Q. Is Travel and Medical Insurance provided ?
We realize the importance of peace of mind and provide you with Travel and Medical Insurance to protect you against any unforeseen circumstances and expenses be it Medical Expenses, Hospitalization , Ambulance expenses, Interruption of Trip due to death of any Family member back home or loss of checked baggage.

Q. Who will pick me up from the airport ?
Local Country coordinator or representatives would be there to receive you at the airport, holding placards, displaying your name. You’ll be picked up from the airport and taken by a car to your place of stay. Please do send us your arrival information well in advance so as to facilitate your airport pickup.Volunteer pickup can also be arranged from bus or train stations.
       
Q. What kind of accommodation will be provided during my stay ?
You will get very comfortable and clean accommodation with a very friendly and welcoming host family. You may sometimes share your room with another volunteer & will have all the basic modern amenities. Sometimes the accommodation is provided by the organization where you’ll work. Our host families have experience of giving comfortable stay to international volunteers.Accomodation is also provided in volunteers home or hostels in some countries.

Q. Which items should I bring along for my trip ?
You would be provided a list of Things to pack in the Pre departure Kit provided to you.      
 
Q. Where do I obtain visa for my trip ?
You need to get the visa of the country of your destination from your home country. For that purpose you have to apply to their consulate/high commission for a visa. ‘Visa on arrival’ is available in certain countries.Please ask for details.

Q.Do I need any vaccinations before I leave for my trip ?
Yes, you must consult a travel doctor from your country well in advance and get the needful done well before your arrival date. We have put down a list of immunizations required by most participants in the pre departure kit provided to volunteers however it is best to check with your doctor.
      
Q.Will I have time for sightseeing & in-country travel ?
Everyday after the work is over you’ll have the evenings to yourself. There will be plenty of time to explore the city of your placement. You can utilize weekends for in-country travel.
